Henry Hagedorn, Ph.D.; Adjunct Professor of Entomology; Editor, Journal of Insect Science Dr. Hagedorn received a BS degree in 1965 and an MS degree in Entomology in 1966 from the University of Wisconsin. He worked on honeybee nutrition with Clayton Farrar and Floyd Moeller, but it was Stan Beck who got him interested in insect physiology. He received a Ph.D. degree in Entomology in 1970 from the University of California at Davis where he worked on mosquito reproduction with Charles Judson. He had two postdoctoral positions, one with Hans Laufer at the University of Connecticut and the other with Jerry Wyatt at Yale University. The summer of 1973 was spent at Woods Hole working on reproduction of the spider crab(!) with Bill Telfer. He was a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst from 1973-1977, at Cornell University from 1977 to 1988, and the University of Arizona in Tucson from 1988 to 2005. He was Director of the Center for Insect Science at Tucson for 5 years. In 2004-2005 he started a live butterfly exhibit at the Tucson Botanical Gardens - that was quite an experience. He retired in 2005 and moved back to Wisconsin where he is now living with my wife, Magdalene (they were married way back in 1964 when Henry was still a UW undergrad) in the lovely village of Cross Plains. He now spends most of his time as editor of the Journal of Insect Science, an online, open access journal that was started at the University of Arizona, but is now published by the Library of the University of Wisconsin.	jis@insectscience.org, 608/262-5493, web
