Brown lacewings

Brown lacewings are very similar to green lacewings except they are smaller (usually about ½ inch long) and brown in color.

Eggs are not laid on stalks, and larvae are more slender than those of green lacewings. Both adults and larvae of brown lacewings are predators but they are usually not as common as green lacewings. Brown lacewings are in the order Neuroptera and family Hemerobiidae.
