Note on Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle

The Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle, Harmonia axyridis, is a tree-dwelling species that feeds on aphids and related insects. It was introduced into the southern United States and has been rapidly moving northward in recent years. It can be a pest when it moves into homes and other buildings in large numbers to overwinter. This insect is featured in MBCN's Know Your Friends column for October 1995.
