Association of Natural Bio-control Producers Annual Conference: "Biocontrol for the New Millenium"
Sunspree Resort, Scottsdale (Phoenix), Arizona
This conference will focus on how can production biocontrol best access existing USDA and other research developments and techniques?; how can ANBP influence USDA/ARS and other research; and the effect on biocontrol of the recently passed Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA). There will be local site visits (and discussion) at the USDA/APHIS Pink Bollworm Mass Production Lab and the USDA/ARS Beneficial Insect Research Lab, featuring an ELISA method for in-field quality assurance, as well as a special hands-on workshop (extra cost) by UC Riverside on "Identification of Trichogramma" and "Trichogramma Slide Preparation." The ANBP Conference package includes three nights lodging, some meals, and other events. The cost is $550.00 until September 1, then $600.00. At the door, the fee will be $650.00.

Includes an informal conference on "The Role of Extension in Implementing Biological Control in IPM Programs: Perspectives from Entomology and Plant Pathology." Speakers will discuss the concept of biological control in the two disciplines, the research/extension interface, and provide examples of successful programs.
