In March 2002, Dr. Charles and Patricia Koval established the Charles F. and Patricia R. Koval Insect Ambassadors Program Fund. The purpose of the fund is to support the activities of the Insect Ambassadors, a group of enthusiastic graduate and undergraduate students from the Department of Entomology, who teach the public about insects ... where they live, how they survive and the positive things they do for our environment.

 

children The Insect Ambassadors Program fulfills the vision of both Charles, an Emeritus Professor in Entomology, and Patricia, a retired teacher and educator from Madison Public Schools, in creating a program that combined both of their passions, insects and education. A very popular program with elementary students and teachers, Insect Ambassadors hope to stimulate and encourage children as well as adults to learn and seek out more information about insects.

This innovative way to enlighten Wisconsin's youth and adults is almost entirely dependent upon private support and a gift from you helps sustain and expand this very popular outreach program. Gifts to the Charles F. and Patricia R. Koval Insect Ambassadors Program Fund will help the Ambassadors with:

  • purchasing educational materials
  • developing curriculum
  • traveling in and around the Madison area to present the program
  • marketing efforts
  • and much, much more ...
