Insect Highlights

Insect Highlights for the Week of April 20, 2007.

Carpenter Ants

Larvae, cocoons, & worker ants

ANTS IN THE HOME

If medium to large ants have been seen in the home during the last two weeks there is a pretty good chance you have a carpenter ant colony in the home. Ants will be looking for sugar, protein and fats to help rear their young. With any ant colony finding the nest is most important. Sawdust or debris that accumulate in corners is a sure sign you are close to the nest. See http://learningstore.uwex.edu/Controlling-Carpenter-Ants-P300C68.aspx.
